Legal Assistance
for Seniors is very pleased to announce that we have a new Executive
Director, Francel D'Andrea!
Francel D’Andrea came to us with a wide range of nonprofit experience,
most recently as Executive Director of Oakland Elizabeth House, a
transitional residence for women and children. She served in that
capacity for five years, promoting the organization through frequent
presentations to funding organizations and community groups, assuming a
leadership role in local community organizations and participating in
the nonprofit roundtable meetings of the Oakland Chamber of
Commerce.
LAS will host an Open House from 3 to 6 p.m. on
May 21 to officially welcome Francel. We hope you will be able to join
us to meet and welcome her personally.
She has a long history of developing community partnerships and
networking with other agencies. Francel also has a solid fundraising
background as well as a strong interest in staff development. She
shares the LAS Board of Directors’ commitment to developing the
strengths and talents of staff members and building exceptional teams
and an enjoyable workplace environment.
Our new E.D. hails from Queens, New York, and has spent most of her
adult life in Pennsylvania where she lived and worked in many parts of
the state. Francel fell in love with California many years ago while
visiting family in Southern California and during a sabbatical in the
Bay Area. Six years ago a job opportunity allowed her to realize her
dream of moving here.
Francel’s leisure time activities include dining with friends, reading,
watching movies (yes, she’s a movie buff), participating as a member of
Zonta International, and traveling to visit family scattered all over
the country. In addition to spending quality time with her family,
Francel particularly enjoys taking long walks by the San Francisco
Bay.
We are thrilled and honored to have Francel leading us as we continue
our service to the senior community. LAS plans to hold an Open House on
May 21st from 3pm to 6pm to officially welcome Francel. We hope you
will be able to join us to meet and welcome her personally.
