Remembering Phil Epstein
We have lost a devoted HICAP volunteer and friend
For the past fifteen years, Phil
Epstein, who passed away in December 2008, gave his time and talent to
the Alameda County HICAP as a state-registered volunteer counselor. He
amassed a wealth of expertise in the Medicare realm and successfully
advocated for many clients’ rights.
Phil individually counseled over 3,000 clients on Medicare and long term care insurance subjects, provided many community education presentations throughout Alameda County and assisted Legal Assistance for Seniors with the development of several databases.
Phil was a warm, generous, and unassuming person who was highly esteemed by all his HICAP colleagues and the LAS staff. We remember him with great admiration and fondness.
