Volunteer Appreciation Luncheon – June 26th
Legal Assistance for Seniors held its annual volunteer appreciation luncheon at Hs Lordships Restaurant on the Berkeley Marina. In a private room overlooking the sunny San Francisco Bay, LAS board members, staff and volunteers gathered to enjoy each others’ company and the delicious and plentiful buffet lunch. LAS is truly grateful for the time and expertise that each of the legal and HICAP volunteers have contributed on behalf of our clients.
“Serving Seniors Never Gets Old” – October 23rd
Our annual fundraising event was an inspiring and memorable occasion. A sold-out crowd of 270 friends and colleagues of veteran Oakland Elder Law attorney, Priscilla Camp, gathered at the Silver Dragon restaurant in Oakland to pay tribute to Priscilla as Legal Assistance for Seniors honored her with a Lifetime Achievement Award.

Belva Davis, host of KQED's "This Week in Northern California," graciously agreed to act as Mistress of Ceremonies. Associate Justice of the California Supreme Court, Carol A. Corrigan, highlighted the life and work of Ms. Camp and presented her with the award. In her remarks, Justice Corrigan stated, "Priscilla is a leader who brings diverse people together, inspires them, then shows them how to make a difference."
The fundraising event, a project of the LAS Board of Directors, was chaired by the president, Catherine Duggan, and was our most successful ever.
