2009 Volunteer Appreciation Luncheon
LAS celebrates the spirit of volunteerism!
On June 26, Legal Assistance for Seniors celebrated those without whom our help and outreach to the senior community would be impossible – our volunteers! Board members, staff, volunteers and their guests were able to enjoy a lunch buffet and the beautiful bay view at the Hs Lordships restaurant at the Berkeley Marina. After a welcome by Executive Director Francel D’Andrea and a speech from our new Board President Catherine Duggan, our volunteers were presented with awards and certificates. Maureen Carden, Managing Attorney at LAS, presented all legal volunteers with a Wiley Manuel certificate for their service. Janet Van Deusen, HICAP Manager, awarded all HICAP volunteers with orchids and special words of thanks. She honored several with pins and certificates from the California Department of Aging for reaching the important milestones of 5, 10, 15 and 20 years of service as HICAP Counselors.
