Volunteer Attorney

Volunteer attorneys provide counsel, advice, and representation to clients at LAS.  S/he is responsible for providing excellent service to clients and callers with legal problems.

HICAP Volunteer Counselor

Provide individual counseling to Medicare beneficiaries regarding Medicare, Supplemental plans, Prescription Drugs, Medicare Advantage plans, Long Term Care Insurance, Appeals, and more.

Volunteer Law Clerk

Are you a law student looking for real world experience?  Our law clerks assist clients and provide legal support to staff attorneys at LAS.  They are responsible for providing excellent service to clients with legal problems, doing legal research and writing, performing tasks assigned by staff attorneys, and otherwise providing support to the staff attorney to whom s/he is assigned.

Development Volunteer

Assist with LAS fundraising efforts.  Efforts include assistance with event planning, direct mail solicitation, newsletter and annual report publication, donor campaigns and donor acknowledgment.

Legal Support Volunteer

This volunteer helps attorneys and advocates with their case files, does the conflicts check on all new cases, assists with data entry, maintains the client case filing system, assists with case review paperwork, assists with production of closing letters and other routine casework correspondence, and provides copying support for advocates and outreach coordinators.

Administrative Volunteer

This volunteer helps with many office functions, which may include the case filing system, referrals, reception, data entry, and general clerical support.
