HICAP legal services, Medicare, Medi-Cal, Prescription Drugs, Qualified Medicare Beneficiaries (QMB)
In LAS’ health law service area, we provide legal services to
disabled and/or low-income individuals and Medicare-eligible
seniors throughout Alameda and Contra Costa counties.
LAS staff assist health law clients in:
- understanding their health care options
- addressing Medicare or Medi-Cal enrollment issues
- contesting inappropriate or inaccurate charges for medical services
- appealing denials in coverage
We served 400 clients last year
Through these services, disabled, low-income, and elderly individuals in obtain quality medical coverage. By educating and advocating on behalf of LAS’ health law clients, we empowers these individuals to become proactive in their own medical care and health care decisions.
