NPR reported in June that the State Health Insurance Assistance Program, or SHIP, is among more than a dozen programs left out of the latest budget bill by the committee Senate Appropriations Committee. SHIP helps seniors understand the many intricacies of Medicare, a service that has saved seniors millions of dollars.
